We are a twenty-something, Midwestern born and raised, married couple who decided to take our love of seeing new places up a notch by traveling round the world. Before going global, Ben worked as a structural engineer for a firm in Texas, while Deenaree worked as an ESL teacher in a local school district and part-time as a trainer through a language company.
The decision to travel to this degree wasn’t an easy one-we left stable jobs and a sense of involvement in the lives of those around us-but with the love and support of close friends and family, we go forward knowing that this is an opportunity we could not pass up.
Our international dreams originally began with a hope to live overseas. We would like to fulfill these plans someday soon, but are allowing ourselves the chance to take everything in as we go.
So far, the journey has taken us to rural, indigenous villages and skyscraper-filled cities. We have followed trails up Andes mountains, swam with Galapagos born sea turtles, floated on the Dead Sea, shared tea with a Syrian grandmother, and visited tombs of pharaohs of ancient civilizations. It has definitely been a life-changing and educational adventure.
